Not with Haste

So yesterday was cray cray. I had all the intentions of just posting a outfit of the day post..I even made up a completely new outfit for it. I was pretty proud of myself. It was hippy-esque and awesome. But I was so exhausted yesterday, sleep literally took over my body, and told me, "no, you aren't doing anything today." I took a four hour nap from 12:30-4:30, and then went to bed at 10:30. I'm a night owl, so that's super duper early for me. Anyway, I did get some homework done in the six hours I was actually awake, so the day wasn't a complete waste!

Anyway, my birthday was a good one. I didn't do anything too spectacular, it being a Tuesday night and all, but I had fun with Curtis, his sister, and her husband. They all sang Happy Birthday to me and joined me in eating magnificent cookie cake (def one of my favs!) after Curtis and I went on an adventure to get some yummy pizza. There's a place in Downtown Bryan (sister city to the one I live in) called Mr. G's Pizza, it's pretty awesome..minus the service. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's awful and you'll never get your food, but both times I've been, awkward things have happened. Maybe I just attract awkwardness..yeah, most definitely do. We walked into the restaurant at 8:05ish, the sign on the door said they didn't close 'til 9, so we figured we were good, but no! The moment we walked in everyone, and I mean everyone, looked at us like we were crazy people. I thought to myself, uhhh, do I look that ridiculous that everyone has to stare at me? The waitress then walked up to us and this is literally what she said, "you guys can either eat really fast, or get the pizza to-go, we're about to leave." Okay, I understand you don't want people sitting around after you close, believe me, I've worked at places before where this has happened and it is one of the most obnoxious things on earth, but really, 55 minutes early?!

Needless to say, we got the pizza to-go because we didn't want everyone in the room to hate us. We probably should've just ate there and taken our sweet time..but whatever. I was kind of upset by all of this, I mean, what kind of customer service is that?..ehh, I don't think we'll be going back for a while, even though the pizza was absolutely delicious. Next, in our adventures to eat my birthday dinner, we had to figure out a place to actually eat the pizza. I came up with the brilliant idea of eating it behind North Gate, a bar/dancing area of our town, it's very Texan..as in the stereotype, I've never been there at night..except one time when I went to a local restaurant on a late night escapade with my friends our sophomore year. I honestly didn't think there would be that many people there since it was a Tuesday night (I obviously know nothing about alcoholics), and they have covered picnic tables! But, I was wrong..there were awkward drunk people wandering around..yelling, "alcoholics!!" at us when we drove by, lots of loud music coming from the bars, and just random awkward things abound!

The most ironic part of my birthday: the fact that I went to the place where most 21 year olds go on their birthday to buy their first "legal drink" and get suuuuuper drunk. Only, I went there so I could eat my pizza and drink a Sonic Route 44 Coke Zero. I am awesome.

Oh, and Curtis and I met a stoner at Sonic whilst picking up our drink. It was hilarious. He asked us all about our pizza and told us about his stoner munchies. Twas lovely ;)

But all in all, I had a great birthday.
Here's a few snapshots from it!

Mkay, outfit of the day! Sorry for the weird quality, it's really sunny today, and my camera did not know how to handle the massive shadow that the fence was creating.

P.S. - If you hadn't already deciphered this about me, I love mint. Way too much.
