Day 10: Chilly

Howdy all! I currently have a little brown beagle girl staring at me as I type this, and she's making low grumbling noises at me to get my attention. Pretty soon she'll be pawing my leg, or she'll just get tired of me not paying attention to her and fall asleep on the floor beneath me. I'm not sure why I just told y'all that, but Muggles is too cute to ignore altogether..so I'll just type about her instead of giving into her beagle mind tricks.

I hope you guys are having a great Wednesday, mine's been good so far..there's just something about wearing a dress, it makes me happier! Honestly, I think I'll start collecting more skirts and day dresses because I just love 'em. I've never been much of a girly girl, which is probably why I feel more comfortable in neutral colors {and blue, I own toooo much blue}. But, dresses and skirts have me wrapped around their non-existent fingers now-a-days. I'm so glad I put a couple of dresses in my 30x30 challenge, it's making me think of new ways to wear a dress, rather than just sticking a belt around my waist and walking out the door, I'm coming up with different combinations. It's awesome.

It was quite chilly this morning, so chilly that I had to throw on some gloves and my tartan scarf. I had begun to believe winter, if you can call it that here, had gone away for good. But, I'm sure I could've worn this on a spring day as well, that sweater is not very good at keeping me warm. When I was taking these photos, all I wanted to do was put my trench back on. I like the color combo though, and those tights are my favorite, navy is such a great color.

If you were interested, Muggles has made her way into my lap. I'm a sucker for beagle..well, beagle everything.

Tomorrow, I have a fun post planned for Valentine's Day. Curt and I aren't really big Valentine's people. Never have been, and I'm thinking that means we won't ever be. And, he's leaving to go back to our hometown tomorrow night..while I stay here and study for my exam on Friday, boo. But, I am making him a cute little card. It's nerdy with a bit of science thrown in, definitely his style. I'll probably throw in some cookies too. The boy loves his cookies.

How about you guys? What are your plans for V-Day?

Oh! And I wanted to let everyone know about an AMAZING giveaway that Sarah, over at Total Basset Case, is having. I found her blog earlier today through a link up, I clicked on the link because of the basset hound, as you all know..I've got a thaaang for hound dogs, and then BAM, what? A Hunter Rainboots giveaway? My dream come true. They're one of the holes I plan on trying to fill in my closet in the near future, and this is the perfect opportunity to get some for free. I've never won a giveaway before, but that doesn't mean I can't keep trying, right? I'm so excited. Go check it out!

  2. Cuuuute outfit, Kristina!! The teal color of that dress is sooo pretty and I love all the awesome layering going on! :)

P.S. I'm extremely jealous of whatever ledge/railing/wherever you put your tripod to take your pics. I cannot find ANYWHERE on my balcony to take good pic. you will see later bahaha

    1. I have a secret..
I definitely put my tripod on a bicycle handlebar so that the camera's at a normal level. And as for the backyard, I put the tripod on our grill. Although, the bike works as a very useful tool to look like I'm tinkering with it instead of taking awkward pictures of myself when people walk by.

      :)

    2. HAHAHA i literally just lol'd imagining you pretending to mess around with your bike. bahaha thats awesome! and I am a little sad that my phone only fits on the tripod sideways. I guess I just need to mess around with it and figure out how to make it work better for me.

I can't wait until I go home for spring break, I will probably end up putting it on my car ;) lol

    3. I know..it's the one thing that really bothers me about it too. But, I do try to angle it as best as possible so it gets everything in the picture.

Yeah, I'm gonna be more adventurous with it when I go home this weekend. :)

  4. My pup does that too - paw around and uses her nose to get under my arms, or tries to climb on my lap. Pups are the cutest!

That spotted dress as skirt looks great on you!

  6. Love those boots -- this whole outfit is such a great mix of sweet and strong. I don't wear enough blues and greens so I'll have to check back for inspiration!

  7. Ah, the doggies! I remember my schnauzer used to come with a tennis ball and sit behind me when I studied for exams, and breath heavily cause he was excited and wanted to play. then he was dropping the ball on the floor and I knew that's when I better get up and give him some attention, otherwise he'd start to whine:)

I've read about the 30X30 challenge before, but I'm not brave enough to choose 30 items from my closet!:) I'll read back all your 30x30 posts tomorrow, I see I missed out quite a lot! I love the skirt you're wearing and the navy thighs, great color indeed.

And thanks for the link to that Basset Blog!I read once bassets are the dogs who can get anything from you cause they have such an adorable and yet miserable expression in their eyes:)

    1. Awww, your schnauzer sounds like he was adorable!
And yes, the 30x30 is pretty intimidating. I totally wake up in the morning thinking I'm a crazy person for doing all of this, but it's been fun. Although, I do miss the rest of my closet.. a lot. ;)

Bassets definitely know how to get their way. One time I was in an animal rescue shelter and someone put their basset in one of the play rooms while they went and looked around at the other dogs, and by the time they had gotten back, he was on the coffee table, looking over the gate, trying to find out where his dad went! It was too cute.

    2. Lol I so love dog stories!:) sometimes I watch dog videos on youtube, guilty as charged! I hope to have a schnauzer again soon, as my sweet doggie passed away last year. But my husband is into cats more than dogs (total opposite of me) so I guess we'll have to take a kitten and a puppy at the same time.. someday...:)
