Natives + Dog Parks

Bear with me, I'm still trying to figure this new camera out.. I ordered a tripod and a remote from Amazon last weekend, the tripod is perfect, but the remote didn't work. I'm not too sure why it didn't work, but apparently others have had problems with it as well. So, I ended up ordering another one, it's supposed to be here Monday, boo Sundays and no postal service. That meant I had to take my photos with the timer, goodness it's ridiculous. If the beeping noises weren't enough, it only has one time -- 10 seconds, which means I'm just awkwardly standing there for what feels like eternity. Oh, and I had the most difficult impossible time trying to get the lens to focus on ME when I was standing closer to it, so the detail shots are just awful and awkward because I took them myself, you know Myspace style, ha. Okay, camera rant over. I know I'll get the hang of it, and I'm really excited to use my camera pretty much everyday. I've been taking pictures of everything (which will be shown on Monday, weekend recap anyone?)

Cardigan: Old Navy via Goodwill (exact)//Tee: Hanes//Pants: Gap (similar)//Mocs: Minnetonka via TJ Maxx (exact)//Necklace: Forever 21 (exact)//Bracelets: Target (on sale in-store; similar)//Watch: Michael Kors
Can I just say that I am totally digging red right now? I have no idea why, but I love it. These corduroy pants are perfect for Texas spring time. Oh, and I'm kind of obsessed with Minnetonka at the moment too, who isn't though? I really want a pair of these ankle boots, but I think I'll wait until the fall, although, these sandals would be perfect for the honeymoon, while I'm at it these too. Native American inspired anything.. it gets me every time. One last thing about my outfit, I found this black cardigan at Goodwill and scooped it up as fast as possible, it was another hole in my closet, and something I've been needing for far too long. They sell in-store for 27 bucks, I got mine for $4.29, schweeeet.

Not at a dog park, but too adorable to not post.

Get ready for beagle overload you guys. We went to the dog park twice this past week, the weather was just too perfect not to. The first time we went to one that's closer to us, but it was already dusk (they're supposed to close when it gets dark) so no one was there..lame. So we went to the bigger one a couple days later, and let the beagles get their social lives on. Although, Muggles is pretty much my dog twin, and she doesn't really like large groups of dogs. She just chills in the background a lot, sniffing and sitting next to her momma. Like mother, like daughter. Skywalker on the other hand, loves other dogs, and he goes into full beagle mode and plays for hours on end. Little loud mouth, people always thinks he's getting mad -- nope, he's just obnoxiously talkative.

Pooped out after a day at the dog park
Have an awesome Saturday ladies! I'm traveling home for spring break and celebrating Curt's cousin's 16th birthday this afternoon, yay for home-cooked meals! My first bridal shower is on Sunday afternoon, my wonderful aunt and grandma will be hosting it, I'm so excited!

What will you guys be doing this weekend? Any dog parks involved?
Oh, and what's your color obsession at the moment?!

  1. your pups are my fave and those pants look so comfy. i have a pair of red gap jeans and they fit perfectly except oddly small right in the waistband, so i get bruises every time i wear them--no bueno. i would say my color obsessions right now are pink and yellow, which isn't exactly a surprise, being spring and all. they are my two favorite colors anyway, but i'm wanting a closet full of both colors right now. i'm hunting for a pink maxi skirt and a pair of yellow high-waisted shorts.

i need a black cadi too! but for some reason cannot find one anywhere i've thrifted. hmph.

  2. your pictures look great!!! what kind of camera do you use again? I was gifted a little bit of money I want to put toward a nicer camera and am looking for one thats nice but isn't gonna make me broke!! thats a bummer your remote didn't work! :( I hate when technology fails us like that! BUT your outfit looks fab and red is such a perfect color for you! I usually shy away from red but lately I've been diggin' it too!!

Hope you have a FANTASTIC weekend, girl!! Enjoy your bridal shower!

    1. I have a Canon t3. I am completely in love with it, but it is a bit pricey. Not as ridiculous as some of the cameras I looked at..but still.

Thank you though, I shy away from red too. Always have, but for some reason its just been in my brain lately. Thank you thank you thank you, I'm so exited about the bridal shower (and ready for it to be over, I hate being the center of attention..hahah)

  3. We have a really amazing dog park in Orlando, it's about 3 acres, with a crescent beach on a lake that the dogs looove to play in, and some woods with trails. I absolutely love taking my dogs there--or, at least one of them. My littler one has developed fear aggression and is snappy. It's really unfortunate, because she loves to run and chase squirrels! Never take Skywalker's friendliness for granted, trust me. It makes things so much easier.

    1. Oh my goodness, Michelle! That dog park sounds like a dreamland, even for humans! haha

I will never ever take his friendliness for granted, even if he does whine waaay too loud and people stare at times. Curtis's sister's dog is very dominate and doesn't really get along with other dogs well until he's been around them for a.. LONG time. He kind of despises Skywalker, so it's pretty awkward and they get into skirmishes a lot. I'm so glad we're able to take the beagles out though, it's so much fun and I know they love it!

  12. Hey, I think you did rather well with the detail shots, considering you were using a self-timer. Plus, I agree, red is definitely your colour! Happy Sunday, and hi from the link-up!

  15. I'm so glad you posted this outfit. I have those same cords from old navy but dean told me that they were "loud" one of the times I wore them and now I feel strange when I put them on! But now I'm looking at these pictures and I don't think they're too loud at all! Time to pull them out of the closet!
