Beagle Set, Numero Uno

Okay, so if you've been reading my blog for a while, you'll know that I have two silly beagles..whom I'm kind of obsessed in love with. To put it simply, they're basically mine and Curtis's children, and we're pretty proud of 'em. In light of all of that, I thought I'd throw a little "beagle set" together every once in a while to mix things up. If I'm not out looking at clothes, I'm definitely looking for fun things for the beagles (see, I told you they're like children) or fun things with beagles on them. Yep, I'm the crazy beagle lady, what can I say?

one // two // three // four // five // six

one. Beagle farts are kind of the worst thing ever, and this totally fits. I found it a long long time ago, when I first discovered the wonderfulness that is Etsy, and I've wanted to get it for one of the beagles ever since. Or both..

two. Retro record clock?! In the shape of a beagle?! Sign me up! It'd look really cool in our office.. which reminds me, I'm moving in like.. a month, crap.

three. Beagle pillows are the best, especially when the beagle has a crown on him, because beagle are the rulers of all other dogs? haha, just kidding, but it's still a really cute, quirky pillow, that totally fits my personality.

four. Once Curt and I are married, we don't really want the beagles sleeping with us in the bed. So we've been on the look out for a big 'ole beagle bed for them to get all comfy cozy in. I don't know if this one's fluffy enough, I mean we want serious fluff, but it's cute! I am going to miss the beagle cuddles at night though.

five. I want this sweater jumper for Christmas this past year. I didn't get it. Probably had something to do with the crazy price tag. But, I'm still in love with it. Maybe one day I'll have a beagle sweater of my very own!

six. I've been wanting these beagle rainboots from Joules for like four years now. But, I can't decide if I want to save up for them, or for some Hunter wellies, it's so difficult! My current rainboots have been real good to me, so I haven't needed to buy a new pair, but.. I can see I might need some new ones in the near future.

Hope y'all don't think I'm a total crazy for making an entire post about things I can buy with/for beagles.. but hey, they're kind of part of my life too! Have a happy Monday y'all. I'll tell you guys all about my weekend coming up pretty soon. I had a scary migraine on Saturday night/early Sunday morning that was one of the worst I've had in a while, so that'd be the reason for lack of weekend posting. For now, I'll leave you with one of my most recent beagle buys, a beagle bandanna for the upcoming football season! Yay tailgating!

Weekend Recap

Okay, the bridal showers is plural, I only had one, but there will be another one in the near future!

Friday night was a pretty relaxed evening in with the boy. We grilled some delish turkey burgers, and then I made white chocolate covered popcorn to snack on while we watch Cabin in the Woods.. yeah, it was really weird, and I didn't pick it, haha.

Muggles wanting some popcorn and cookies..
Sunday was the day of my bridal shower, I'm not the biggest fan of being the center of attention, but I still enjoyed it a ton. I got lots of lovely things, and it was so fun being surrounded by close friends and family. My aunt, cousin, and grandmother hosted it at my grandmother's house, so it was a pretty quiet affair.

The madre and me
My grandmother on the left and Curt's on the right.
mumsies
three of my five bridesmaids
my grandma's poodle, Gabby.. had to throw her in here.

All-in-all it was a great weekend. I am so blessed!
Have a fantastic Tuesday ladies.

Natives + Dog Parks

Bear with me, I'm still trying to figure this new camera out.. I ordered a tripod and a remote from Amazon last weekend, the tripod is perfect, but the remote didn't work. I'm not too sure why it didn't work, but apparently others have had problems with it as well. So, I ended up ordering another one, it's supposed to be here Monday, boo Sundays and no postal service. That meant I had to take my photos with the timer, goodness it's ridiculous. If the beeping noises weren't enough, it only has one time -- 10 seconds, which means I'm just awkwardly standing there for what feels like eternity. Oh, and I had the most difficult impossible time trying to get the lens to focus on ME when I was standing closer to it, so the detail shots are just awful and awkward because I took them myself, you know Myspace style, ha. Okay, camera rant over. I know I'll get the hang of it, and I'm really excited to use my camera pretty much everyday. I've been taking pictures of everything (which will be shown on Monday, weekend recap anyone?)

Cardigan: Old Navy via Goodwill (exact)//Tee: Hanes//Pants: Gap (similar)//Mocs: Minnetonka via TJ Maxx (exact)//Necklace: Forever 21 (exact)//Bracelets: Target (on sale in-store; similar)//Watch: Michael Kors
Can I just say that I am totally digging red right now? I have no idea why, but I love it. These corduroy pants are perfect for Texas spring time. Oh, and I'm kind of obsessed with Minnetonka at the moment too, who isn't though? I really want a pair of these ankle boots, but I think I'll wait until the fall, although, these sandals would be perfect for the honeymoon, while I'm at it these too. Native American inspired anything.. it gets me every time. One last thing about my outfit, I found this black cardigan at Goodwill and scooped it up as fast as possible, it was another hole in my closet, and something I've been needing for far too long. They sell in-store for 27 bucks, I got mine for $4.29, schweeeet.

Not at a dog park, but too adorable to not post.

Get ready for beagle overload you guys. We went to the dog park twice this past week, the weather was just too perfect not to. The first time we went to one that's closer to us, but it was already dusk (they're supposed to close when it gets dark) so no one was there..lame. So we went to the bigger one a couple days later, and let the beagles get their social lives on. Although, Muggles is pretty much my dog twin, and she doesn't really like large groups of dogs. She just chills in the background a lot, sniffing and sitting next to her momma. Like mother, like daughter. Skywalker on the other hand, loves other dogs, and he goes into full beagle mode and plays for hours on end. Little loud mouth, people always thinks he's getting mad -- nope, he's just obnoxiously talkative.

Pooped out after a day at the dog park
Have an awesome Saturday ladies! I'm traveling home for spring break and celebrating Curt's cousin's 16th birthday this afternoon, yay for home-cooked meals! My first bridal shower is on Sunday afternoon, my wonderful aunt and grandma will be hosting it, I'm so excited!

What will you guys be doing this weekend? Any dog parks involved?
Oh, and what's your color obsession at the moment?!

Day 21: Perfectamundo

I know I said this the last time I wore this dress, which you can find here, but I really do love wearing this dress. It's simple, but the lace pattern is truly unique, plus it can be layered up in the winter time, but can be worn simply for summer afternoons. This is the first time I haven't worn burgundy with it (I own to much burgundy), but change is good in this case. I don't know if you can really tell, but my tights have a pretty cool pattern on them, actually I don't own black tights without patterns on them.. I think I may go pick some plain ones up from Target pretty soon..

I don't really have much to say on this glorious afternoon, honestly, all I want to do is take the beagles to the dog park, lay on a blanket in the grass, and soak up the sun. Summer will be here before you know it, and summer in Texas isn't as pleasant as it might seem. The baseball game last night was fun, but I do believe I enjoy major league baseball much more. Hope you guys have a fantastic Sunday afternoon! I may or may not be making some slight changes to the blog, depends on how much I get done today school-wise. So don't be alarmed if something's not right, haha! I'll leave you with this, the epitome of perfect days for Miss Muggles; windows rolled down, beagle ears billowing in the wind, and that little brown nose taking in all of those magnificent smells!

Day 3: Rainy Days

I checked the weather yesterday when planning out what I was going to wear. Actually, I kind of do that everyday, but I knew it was supposed to rain at some point this week..and since I walk about ten thousand miles to get to class from my parking lot, I thought it'd probably be best to know when I was going to have to deal with the icky mess rain turns campus into. Also, if you ever feel like you don't have enough time in the morning to get ready or just frantically run around throwing clothes everywhere (guilty as charged), I strongly suggest planning everything out before you go to bed. It's something that seems to have been ingrained in me from kindergarten on, I have my father to thank for that.

Needless to say, the rainy day was today. It's just been a constant drizzle/sprinkle type thing goin' on, and I had the brilliant idea to wear a dress and flats. Okay, the dress part wasn't very annoying (except I should've worn tights, rain drizzled legs aren't fun), but the flats part..goodness, my feetsies were sooo cold all morning long! Oh-vell, I had fun imagining myself as Audrey Hepburn, wandering around looking for Cat in the pouring rain, exept..it wasn't pouring, I wasn't looking for a cat named Cat, and Curtis wasn't running after me to find me in an alley and give me a big smooch. It was just drizzly and semi-humid, I was high-stepping it to my first class because I was running late (it's kind of a daily thing for me..), and Curtis was most likely sleeping. Fairy tales do come true! ;)

Oh! Good news, I got the book, Ruby Slippers: How the Soul of a Woman brings Her Home, you can read about it in this post, in the mail yesterday, and I started reading last night. I'm so excited to get the ball rolling with my journey into learning about me, my relationship with Christ, and incorporating all of it into my daily life with Curtis, my family, and my friends. Of course, I'll be writing about it once I get deeper into my readings.

Side note: Skyfall comes out on DVD in SIX days guys. I'm pretty sure it's one of my favorite Bond movies of all time, and since I do have a creepy obsession with all things British, naturally, I have an affinity for Mr. Bond and his movies. This has also led to an odd fascination with tweed. I kind of want to buy everything I see in tweed, it's a problem.

Muggles and I wish you a happy Wednesday! She's probably the cutest rain beagle you'll ever see, no? I've got an exam to study for, not fun, but I'm feelin' pretty good about it. First exam of the semester guys, it starts getting crazy after tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to it. Sad face.
