Style Files: Headbands

'Ello darlings! As I was looking over my Pinterest boards, I've noticed some very prominent trends in what I pin, clothing-wise anyway.. okay, everything else-wise too. What can I say? I like what I like. So I've decided to make a little series out of it. Every couple of weeks I'm going to have a post about current trends, accessories, pieces of clothing, or a particular style of clothing I've been drawn to while perusing Pinterest and other blogs. First up, headbands!

I've always been a headband kinda girl, well, until I got to college.. for some reason I just stopped wearing them. But, I've got quite the collection in the back of my bathroom cabinet that I need to investigate soon. As I'm sure you're all aware, headbands have come back in-style, but with a bit of a different twist.. they're more classic-looking, taking me back to the forties and fifties (LOVE!). I've also been a bit obsessed with headwraps as well; they're so bohemian and fun! Not to mention, I can totally have a bad hair day..but still look pretty cool. Here's some pictures I've been most inspired by recently.

The last picture is actually of a blogger, Kim of Oh, Sweet Joy! and she makes and sells headbands! But, she just had an adorable little baby boy, so she'll be on maternity leave for a little while. I might have to have one of her headbands though! (Random fact.. she's an Aggie, I thought it was kind of the coolest thing ever, lol).

I bought a headwrap a couple of months ago from Forever 21, but I've only worn it once. Little fashion goal for the week: wear my headband! Here are some cute options if you're interested in joining in on the headband/headwrap trend.

Anyone else had the headband/headwrap bug lately? I might just have to go find myself a bandana and call it a day! Or just hit up Urban Outfitters and buy every single one they have.. Happy Tuesday everybody!

ps. For those of you that have my button, I updated it and it's now up on the sidebar! Feel free to change it, if you'd like! :)

  3. I love headbands, but the trendy wide ones that I see now look kind of weird with my short hair! I want to get some fun embellished headbands though - I think they'll look cute on me!! :) I can't wait to see you rock a headwrap/headband...you'll look amazing!!

  4. I really love fun scarves as headbands but I hardly wear them! I try to make them look cute and easy (by spending hours in front of the mirror haha) but I always end up feeling silly in them and walking away without wearing one. I really want to get better at it for the summer though!

  5. How cute are these headbands! For years I used to carry a lot of weight on my face, so I never wore headbands. Then my early 20s hit and within the space of a couple of months my cheeks slimmed down considerably. I can now wear headbands (yay!) but I think I still need to properly figure out what works for me. I have a plaited (braided) H&M earwarmer that looks like a knitted headband, and I'm going to try wearing this winter :)

  6. Thanks for featuring me in this post! Obviously I've been on a bit of a headband kick lately. I think I've worn the one pictured here at least twice a week since I bought it. I definitely suggest going the bandana or vintage route. Vintage handkerchiefs or scarves are the best and are already soft!
