While I'm away on my little 'ol honeymoon in the middle of the Caribbean somewhere, I thought I'd ask a few of my favorite bloggers to do some guest posting for me! First up, my blogger BFF, Jenna from Freckled Fashionista. She's literally the first person to leave a comment on my blog, and quickly became one of my absolute favorite bloggers. I'm pretty sure we're going to have to meet in real life someday, all the more reason to make my way to Pittsburgh! I'm really excited about her topic, thrifting, because it's one of my favorite summer activities, and I'm so excited to make my way to some big cities this summer to browse around for some unique treasures. So without further ado, I give you Jenna!
Hey guys! I'm Jenna, and I blog over at Freckled Fashionista. I am a sophomore at a tiny Christian college and I absolutely love thrift shopping, home-made iced coffee (this girl is too cheap for Starbucks), and all things polka-dotted. Over at my blog you will find lots of outfit inspiration, ramblings on faith and what it means to be a woman of God, and an inside look of my life as a college student who has pretty big goals and dreams.
Today I am going to share with you a few of my all-time favorite thrift store finds from Goodwill!
#1) My Senior Prom Dress
Disclaimer: Boyfriend was not found at Goodwill. |
Yepp, I found my prom dress at Goodwill for $15. It was an Alfred Angelo bridesmaids dress that retailed for over $200 (and can still be found on their website!) and fit me like a glove. It needed no alterations at all and was the same color dress I had been hoping to find. Fate? I think so. Another fun fact- my cousin is wearing this dress to her senior prom this year :)
#2) J.Crew Bow Skirt
This skirt retailed for close to $150 at J.Crew a couple summers ago and was mine to find at my local Goodwill for $5.50. The color is so gorgeous for summer and the bow detail is way too cute. If you are a big Glee fan, you will love to know that Emma Pillsbury wears this same skirt many times on the show and owns it in multiple colors!
#3) Personalized LL Bean Tote
The bag above is not the same bag I purchased from my local Goodwill for $0.50 a few summers ago. While the tote I found is the same when it comes to color and style, The LL Bean bag I bought just happened to have "Jenna" embroidered on it, and would have retailed for close to $40. Luckiest...find...ever.
As you can see, you can find some pretty awesome things when you go thrift shopping! I hope to go more often this summer, and you bet I will be sharing all my awesome finds on my blog!
Thanks so much for having me, Kristina! :)
