Our Wedding, Part I: Getting Ready

Can I just say, I have greatly enjoyed going back through all of these photos about a million times since I got them last week. I could not have asked for a better wedding day, and I am so, so happy with how everything turned out. Through all of the stressful and trying times that came our way during the planning, it was truly all worth it. I'm not going to say I miss wedding planning, because yeah, it's way too stressful for me, but it kind of hit me the other day that I won't ever get a chance to do all of this ever again. I'll just reply it in my mind, which is fine by me! Curtis and I went to a wedding on Friday, and all I could think about during the ceremony was our ceremony and how special it was. Maybe that's why women like weddings so much?

Anyway, without further ado, here's the beginnings of our amazing day in May! A big 'ol thanks to Aly Day of Make My Day Photography, she did such an amazing job, and I am so, so happy with everything she and her husband captured for us on our wedding day.

My gift to my bridesmaids was the floral robes, I knew I had to have them once I saw them on Etsy waaaay back in the summer, I mean look how gorgeous all my ladies look in them! The amazing Yuridia Balderas, a high school friend, did all of my girls' make-up, she worked long and hard on all of us, and I couldn't have been happier with how beautiful we all looked. I went with a few of my bridesmaids and one of my house party girls in the morning to get our hair done, and then one of my two maids of honor, Denise, took me to Starbucks to get a much needed latte. I had stayed up pretty late the night before with all of my bridesmaids and some of my house party doing make-up trials, and Curtis's cousin, Ally, did my nails for me.

It was nice just getting to relax and enjoy the day with all of my girls and my mom before the wedding. We took our time with everything, and it really helped allow me to soak it all in. My goal was to not cry all day. I'm such a cry baby most of the time, it gets to be kind of annoying really, so I was bound and determined to 1. not mess up my make-up/face and 2. not get all awkward because I'm crying.. not a simple task when everyone is telling you how much they love you and how excited they are for you! But, I did it you guys! A couple of small tears here and there, but for the most part, I was tear-free {okay, the ceremony itself was kinda difficult but yeah..}. I am so blessed with so many wonderful people in my life that were there for me on this special day, and I am so happy they were all a part of it!

I'll be posting all the specific portions of the wedding throughout the next couple of weeks. Hope you all enjoy!

PS. Happy Birthday, momma! I wish I was home today to celebrate with you, but I had so much fun this weekend with you! I love you so much!

  6. Oh my gosh, girl! I don't even know where to start!! Those shoes are ADORABLE!! I mean positively adorable! I love the girl's dresses; how they were the same color but completely unique. I like that idea so much more than everyone being identical. And those robes! That was such a sweet idea! You guys look so cute in your matching robes! And, you! You looked absolutely gorgeous, Kristina! Seriously, you were breath taking! I'm so glad your day was perfect! ;)
