This week's kind of a re-cooperation type of week for me. After two straight weeks/weekends of extreme amounts of things to do, the introvert in me needs time by herself to one..sleep, and two get back into the swing of things, which includes this blog! I've missed being able to just sit down and peruse through my favorite blogs, and then happen upon a new blog or two (seriously, one of my favorite things lately). Something about it calms me down, and makes me feel less overwhelmed, which is a good, good thing since everything else seems to be hectic lately. You know what else helps when you're feeling overwhelmed? Chambrays and beagles, of course!
Or..just pretending you're ice skating in your backyard in 80 degree weather, definitely helps with stress. I mean, look at that form! I've been wanting to do the whole, "put your necklace over your shirt that happens to be buttoned all the way up" thing, so I did it. At first, I was like.."ehhhh," but once I saw the pictures, I was like, "ooooh!" So, I'll be doing this trend again someday. Although, my chambray has the tiniest collar ever, what the heck! haha
I infiltrated my mom's closet a few weeks ago and discovered a ton of belts that have been hiding out in there since the 80's, so I took 'em (okay, I asked first.. tehe!). The one I'm wearing here happens to be my favorite find. I also found two maxi skirts (black and cobalt) that I plan on getting taken in at some point, definitely won't happen until June, I guarantee it. So funny how fashion comes back around. I feel some people don't like it when clothes come back in-style, like it's a bad thing or something, but I embrace it (secretly, because people close to me like to make comments on how annoying it is.. awkward). Honestly though, what's wrong with fashion coming back in-style? It's never going to stop, so why hate on it? It's a pet peeve of mine, if you couldn't tell.
Hope y'all are ready for more regular posting, because I've aligned a bunch of posts for at least a week! Happy Humpday my darlings, hope it's treatin' you well.

LOVE the simplicity of this outfit! It's so great. Makes me want to go with the more simple direction. It's so hard for me though haha
ReplyDeleteThanks Ana!
DeleteSometimes I have a problem with thinking I'm too simple, sooo kind of the opposite of you. It's hard for me sometimes!
I love the small details in this - the texture of your shorts, the skinny belt, your matching toe polish and the necklace. It all adds up together to make such a sweet outfit.
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you :)
DeleteLove your outfit - it's all in the details (the bows, the toe nails, and the belting!) Thanks for sharing with WW
ReplyDeleteYou're rocking the necklace over the collar look! For sure!! I tried that a few weeks back and really love it. And oh my goodness...LOVE beagles!!! What a cutie!
ReplyDeleteAw thanks, Ashley :)
DeleteOOO - I like the necklace over the collar, I haven't tried that one yet. Definitely will be, thanks for the idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks Alisa, and do it! It's makes things more fun ;)
DeleteI love who whole ensemble thing, but what really got me were you shoes and toenails. I think that's an adorable shot. But maybe that's because I love having cute toenails and showing them off.
ReplyDeleteWhen fashions come back in style, I'm a happy girl. Some of my favorite clothing items are actually hand-me-downs from my mother. I also stole one of her belts- haha. :)
Cheers!

Awww yess! That makes me feel good! I actually had time to take my photos without rushing around trying to fit it into a five minute break time, so I'm kind of proud of them.. glad you noticed!! :)

DeleteSuch a cute preppie outfit - I love it! So casual and comfy but really pretty.
ReplyDeleteThanks, chica!
Deletethat last picture? love it. The tucked in chambray with the belt? love it. That sweet adorable beagle? I LOVE IT. seriously, you are so darn rad :) when it comes to trends, I always remember this quote, "If you were around to experience it the first time around, you are too old to be wearing it the second time around." So while basically everything is a-okay for me to wear (chambrays, maxis, etc.) will not be wearing them when my kids are (if they come back in style again) ;)

You are too sweet, darling.
DeleteI definitely agree with you on the not wearing something if you wore it the first time around. But these are people are age, just complaining about how the sixties and seventies are back in-style. They're so silly!
I love your outfit! I only wish it were warm enough here so that I could wear something similar! Fashion is a funny thing-- I can't believe cyclical it is... although I'm not convinced acid wash jeans are ever going to be "cool" again. Maybe they will. I can't wait until bib overalls are on the runways :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kate! It's FREEZING here now.. crazy weather.
DeleteAnd I'm with you on acid wash jeans..ew. ;)
My chambray has a tiny collar too! It's so weird! How cool is that you found trendy vintage stuff in your mom's closet! Can't wait to see the maxi skirts.
ReplyDeleteI've been looking for a chambray the color of yours. It seems like the perfect summer chambray! And I'm pretty sure I need those flats you're wearing. Need.

Love this outfit on you! Simple neutral pieces with a touch of color in the necklace pop - so cute!
ReplyDeleteAnd I totally agree with your sentiments about clothes coming back in style. It is something I enjoy, and I feel like it always comes back a little better than first time.

That's awesome that you found some good stuff in your mom's closet! I recently found a skirt she used to wear and I am OBSESSED. Unfortunately she got rid of most of her old band t-shirts so I missed out on that :(
ReplyDeleteOh, I have those same flats from Target and I wear them A LOT. So much so that I've started looking for a replacement pair because they are falling apart :(
Great outfit! Loving your top and shorts! And your shoes and nail color are so cute! Essie nail polish is always so stunning!
