Day 3: Rainy Days

I checked the weather yesterday when planning out what I was going to wear. Actually, I kind of do that everyday, but I knew it was supposed to rain at some point this week..and since I walk about ten thousand miles to get to class from my parking lot, I thought it'd probably be best to know when I was going to have to deal with the icky mess rain turns campus into. Also, if you ever feel like you don't have enough time in the morning to get ready or just frantically run around throwing clothes everywhere (guilty as charged), I strongly suggest planning everything out before you go to bed. It's something that seems to have been ingrained in me from kindergarten on, I have my father to thank for that.

Needless to say, the rainy day was today. It's just been a constant drizzle/sprinkle type thing goin' on, and I had the brilliant idea to wear a dress and flats. Okay, the dress part wasn't very annoying (except I should've worn tights, rain drizzled legs aren't fun), but the flats part..goodness, my feetsies were sooo cold all morning long! Oh-vell, I had fun imagining myself as Audrey Hepburn, wandering around looking for Cat in the pouring rain, exept..it wasn't pouring, I wasn't looking for a cat named Cat, and Curtis wasn't running after me to find me in an alley and give me a big smooch. It was just drizzly and semi-humid, I was high-stepping it to my first class because I was running late (it's kind of a daily thing for me..), and Curtis was most likely sleeping. Fairy tales do come true! ;)

Oh! Good news, I got the book, Ruby Slippers: How the Soul of a Woman brings Her Home, you can read about it in this post, in the mail yesterday, and I started reading last night. I'm so excited to get the ball rolling with my journey into learning about me, my relationship with Christ, and incorporating all of it into my daily life with Curtis, my family, and my friends. Of course, I'll be writing about it once I get deeper into my readings.

Side note: Skyfall comes out on DVD in SIX days guys. I'm pretty sure it's one of my favorite Bond movies of all time, and since I do have a creepy obsession with all things British, naturally, I have an affinity for Mr. Bond and his movies. This has also led to an odd fascination with tweed. I kind of want to buy everything I see in tweed, it's a problem.

Muggles and I wish you a happy Wednesday! She's probably the cutest rain beagle you'll ever see, no? I've got an exam to study for, not fun, but I'm feelin' pretty good about it. First exam of the semester guys, it starts getting crazy after tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to it. Sad face.

  1. You look. AWESOME! That dress is perfection, and I love that it's long-sleeved, too! I have a striped dress that I will be doing a "Many Ways to Wear It" post on coming up soon so hopefully that will inspire/push me to wear it more often!! I looove how you layered that button up underneath!! And with the belt! Oh goodness, I just love this look in general. Get's an A+ in my books ;)

  2. Danke, Jenna! :D
I love that it's long-sleeved as well, but the green blouse is like extra long-sleeved (it's supposed to be rolled up), so I had to awkwardly roll it up. But I liked it! I can't wait to see your post about your striped dress though!!

  4. I am totally in love with this dress. Can't believe it's forever 21 and not super short! I really like how you added the green collared shirt underneath for a pop of color! Can't wait to hear about the book and your journey... I am on the same journey myself. My fiancé and I are focusing on a Christ centered relationship. I hope the best for you :)

    1. Uhmmm, I know right!? Their dresses are always ridiculously short..so cute, but so short. I got a blue one along with this one, and I can't wear it without wearing tights..it's just a tad bit too short.

So glad to hear that you and your fiance are focusing on a Christ centered relationship, it makes your relationship so much more enjoyable! :)

  6. i legit GASPED at the pop of teal. i am obsessed. i'm an avid wearer of striped dresses and i now know a whole new way to wear them! i hated having to walk across campus when it was raining, so i also got in the habit of wearing anything that didn't cover my legs so i wouldn't be damp all day in class. *shudder*
you're so right about picking out outfits the night before; i always start my day on a better, less frantic note when i do that!

I knew that dress needed a little somethin' somethin'. I have no less than 10 items of striped clothing in my closet, and I want more. Especially dresses! I LOVE them!

And I was gonna make up a button soon, I'll try to get to it this weekend in the midst of studying! Can you say study break? ;)
