Haircuts

I can't exactly remember the last time I got a haircut.. it was probably last summer. I'm awful at planning it out because I don't know of any good hair salons in College Station, so I just wait until I know I'm going to be home for an extended period. As for why I didn't just get a haircut over Christmas break.. I couldn't tell you, but I finally got one today. I didn't do anything too crazy, I really just trimmed two inches off.. but I'm wanting to chop my hair off after the wedding in May. Here's one option here and another one here, what do you guys think? Should I go for it in a couple of months? I know my neck will be thanking me come July when it's 104 degrees outside. But I'm not quite sure if I have the face shape for it? How do you know those kinds of things anyway? haha

Anywho, I'm diggin' no split ends for the time being.

I finally got a remote that works with my Canon, yayay. Although, it's going to take some real skill to figure out how the heck to hide my remote, it's not exactly tiny. I used one of Curt's dad's lenses today for some of the pictures, I'm obsessed with it. It takes such beautiful and crisp photos, and you can really tell the difference between my lens and his higher end lens. Case in point -- the ones of my entire body are my lens, the others are his lens, can you tell? I know I can.

I found this striped top on the same Goodwill trip as the cardigan, and it was another hole in my closet. To be honest, this striped shirt obsession is becoming a bit crazy, and I packed like four striped tops to bring home with me. When I was planning out some outfits for the week, I definitely felt that feeling when you finally realize you're obsessed with something and it's weird. I'm a stripes addict, and it's taking over my.. closet. Haha! Oh! I just ordered this baby for the honeymoon, I am soooo excited. Hopefully I don't look completely ridiculous in the bottoms, but I was in love with it from the very first time I saw it. How can you not be?

How about you guys, any patterns you're particularly drawn to? Or have you gotten a new bathing suit for the coming summer months?

  2. do itttttt! I chop mine off every few years and it's so liberating! (it also feels really good if you have enough hair to donate!) It always takes some time to figure out how to style, but it's a fun change. I think it would look great on you!

  3. oh my gosh you would look GORGEOUS with those shorter haircuts!! I'm finally starting to like my shorter, layered look but I know that for at least 1 year before i get married I won't cut it at all ;) and THAT BATHING SUIT. so freakin' adorable!! I paid almost $100 for a bikini last year from Victorias Secret and I gained weight and my uh..."girls" grew like one whole size and how I can't wear the top without looking like a hoochie mama :( BOO.

I know I need to get a proper-fitting bathing suit but I've been drawn to one-pieces and tankinis lately, and surprisingly Matt LOVES one pieces...so I think I'm gonna be on the look out for a super cute one piece for this summa!

p.s. YOU ARE SO DARN PRETTY, especially in that close-up with the watch. you are gonna make one beautiful bride, chica!

    1. Danke, danke! I'm really wanting to do it now, too bad I have to wait two more months, ha. I have ridiculous problems with le girls too.. seriously, bathing suits are either perfect or DO NOT WORK AT ALL. There seems to be more of the DO NOT WORK AT ALL bathing suits out in the world, so I'm really praying that this one works! I haven't spent a ton on a bathing suit in quite sometime.

Curtis loves one pieces too! I've been on the hunt for one (and I really want to order one from J. Crew), but I don't want to spend a ton more than I already have.. BUT, hopefully I can find one! If you see any, let me know :)

Thank you, girl, you are too too sweet :)

    2. You girls should try http://beverlyswimwear.com/ I did a review of her suits and I love mine! She has SO many cute, vintage-style one pieces and since she handmakes them (trust me the quality is amazing) you can customize it with whatever color/pattern you want! Here's my review :) http://haircutandgeneralattitude.blogspot.com/2013/03/make-splash.html

  4. DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT! I 100% support ladies with short hair; you'll look great! (Not that you don't already)
And, the addiction to stripes? It's contagious. I don't even wanna tell you how many longsleeve striped boatneck shirts I have (4. At least.)

  5. Those boots are so cute and your hair looks great! I totally want to chop mine off sometimes but I know I don't have the face for it. I don't know how I know...I just do. Haha!
I love the bikini you bought! I'm so tempted to try the high waisted bikini look but I don't think it would work with my body type. Where are you going on your honeymoon? Your wedding is getting so close!!

  8. This is coming from a LOVER of short hair, so I'm biased haha! But you should totally chop it! I love the side part on the first picture, and the curliness on the second.

As for face shape, Google solves all problems. When I was looking for a different style, I looked up styles for a heart-shaped face (my face shape), and it told me to add bangs or more volume to the top of my hair to distract from a wide forehead. You can find the same tips for your face shape!

And I'm loving that bikini and your striped shirts!

    1. Thanks girl! I really really want to.. we'll see if I have the courage come May. I've had short hair before and it looked fine, but it's been four years at least.. haha, so it's still pretty scary! I'll definitely use the ole google, but sometimes it's just so stinking hard to tell what on earth my face shape is!

  10. I'm drawn to those retro bikinis, but UO is a little steep for me (but a honeymoon is worth the cost!)... I think high-waisted bottoms give a very flattering silhouette, but I have an old sole. I don't think you'll look ridiculous in them.

Also, I can't really tell if your face shape is rectangle or oval, but it'll work with chin-length styles. I have a long face and apparently it's best with almost all hair but long, go figure.

    1. Haha, I'm pretty sure I have an old sole too, anything that looks remotely retro, I'm there.

  14. You would look adorable with a short haircut. Go you for being brave. I'm weirdly attached to my hair, mainly because it never grows. I also haven't had a hair cut in like a year and a half. Oops. haha

  15. Simple outfit but gorgeous. Cut your hair - it always grows back! Having said that I'm done with the haircut maintainance that short hair requires for now - you're right it does become a chore! Thanks so much for linking up with WW :)
