These are a few of my favorite things..

Hello lovelies. I hope you all are having a marvelous week, I'm currently taking a break from studying and listening to some oldies on Pandora. The channel started out as a Mumford & Sons channel, and it's pretty much turned into the 60's station because I keep liking The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, Jefferson Airplane, and Buffalo Springfield. I'd totally be a flower child if I could get away with it you guys. Speaking of 60's music, it's some of my absolute favorite, and I've been thinking about finding an old record player (hello parent's garage) and starting a vinyl collection of my own. I know, total hipster move, but honest to goodness, I've always liked this kind of music. Truth be told, one of my favorite things is studying and listening to good music, I even miss it over the summer months sometimes (not that much though, ha!)

Along with getting my 60's fix, I also have an affection for stripes (you already knew that, of course), florals, which seems to be a new thing, I guess I'm trendy, and hats, which you can read about here. I've never been a pattern mixer, the whole idea of it seemed pretty out there to me, but that was before and now I'm transformed! Dramatic much?

I've had this dress since high school, in fact, it's probably the last thing I ever bought at Abercrombie, I think I was a first mover or something, because everyone in my hometown stopped shopping there soon after (I'm not bragging, seriously, it closed down a year or so after I left for college). Or, it could've been the fact that a Forever 21 opened next door to it, I'm not quite sure.. sarcasm guys, sarcasm. But it is gorgeous, and so un-Abercrombie-ish that I had to have it when I saw it. Yes, I still remember six years later! But I've only worn it a handful of times, what's wrong with me?! Maybe I'll do some sort of remix challenge with it soon. The floral pattern makes me a happy girl.

OH! I almost forgot, if you follow me on instagram, you'd know I went on a nice walk with Muggles the other day at a park. After looping around, and then going on a little adventure through a historic neighborhood (those are my favorite), we took a short cut through some trees/bushes to get back to my car. Bad idea, we almost got attacked by Guineas! It's kind of hilarious thinking about it afterwards, but at the time, we were freaking out. The big one (male, I'm assuming) came out of the brush and started screeching at us, I had no idea what was going on an Muggles was like, what da heck? (yep, she can talk), and then others randomly appeared out of nowhere, it was like an ambush attack, haha. So Mugs and I had to run and hop over a little creek bed to get away from them. They screeched at us until we got back to the car, and I was freaking out all the way there because I'm terrified of birds. This isn't the first time Muggles and I have almost been attacked by birds on our lovely walking adventures. The first time it was Mockingbirds, they're mean little buggers. This is my life you guys.

Last thing, I put up a FAQs page the other day, if y'all come up with anymore questions, feel free to ask!

    1. OH. YES. PLEASE! I'd totally be down to jam anyyy time!

Curt's sister just got two lovebirds, she's trying to "teach" me to feed them and stuff for when they're out of town. Ain't gonna happen, no way, no how. But I don't even know how I'd manage to be around a humongous parrot!! ahhh.

  17. So, flowers and polka dots are my favorite things. And so is 60's music. Do you like Gary Puckett and the Union Gap? Dion and the Belmonts? Jay and the Americans? Sam Cooke? I'm a fan of Simon & Garfunkel as well.

I was just passing through while browsing blogs, but I'm liking your outfits, and your impeccable taste in music. I'm more of a life and humor blogger, but it's always good to have a few fashionable ladies to give your inspiration, no? I'm a few follower.

    Cheers!

  19. I love this entire outfit! I just got a hat exactly like that because I love them but I haven't been brave enough to actually wear it yet. And I love the mix of stripes and florals yet I have never done it either. I have always admired it from afar, not knowing how to accomplish it for myself. But, I think you've encouraged me to finally give it a go! You look adorable :)

PS You have GREAT taste in music!
