One More Month

In lieu of getting married in exactly one month (yep, just one), I thought I'd share with y'all some of my favorite engagement photos we took this past November. The engagement has literally flown by, and I can't believe it's already been 9 months! But, I'm so ready to marry my best friend, you have no idea. It's been really rough these past few weeks, with all of the bridal showers, special events, and school on top of it all.. so I'm taking a moment to slow down and just relish in the fact that we're almost there. Seven years later, we're almost there. So here you guys go!

All photos were taken by Aly Day of Make My Day Photography.
(you should definitely check out her blog)

I sure do love that boy, and cannot wait until he's my husband.

Hope y'all have a great day, mine hasn't started out well. I found out last night that a small town literally 15 minutes from my parents' house had a major fertilizer plant explosion, and the last report I've seen said there were 5-15 fatalities and over 170 injured and in the hospital. Homes and businesses were leveled from the explosion, as well. So if you could all keep the town of West, Texas in your prayers.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people. Ephesians 6:18

PS. I linked up with Bri's Work Clothes, I Suppose using this outfit from a couple of weeks ago. Just wanted to let y'all know about the fun link up she has! It's spring florals this time around.

Einundzwanzig

For those of you that don't speak German, or just think the title of this post looks like complete gibberish, I'm twenty-one today! I actually didn't realize it was my birthday when I woke up this morning at the crack of dawn for my 8AM, and then people started texting me..I was like oh yeah, it's my birthday! Anyway, to celebrate this wonderful day, I'm gonna tell you twenty-one things I want to accomplish in this twenty first year of my life.

1. Get married...obviously. I can't describe how excited I am to start this journey with Curtis! <3
2. But, not only do I want to get married, I want to learn to be a Godly wife, a wife that is there for her husband to support him and even to push him when he needs it.
3. I really want to get out of Texas. I feel a bit trapped here right now, and I want to explore new places! We're going on a cruise for our honeymoon to Jamaica, the Grand Cayman Islands, and Cozumel, I am sooo stoked! But we're also planning on trying to make it to an away game for football, so we'll probably end up going to Oxford, Mississippi or Baton Rogue, Louisiana; I'll be perfectly content with either!
4. Get a 4.0 GPA..I haven't had one in so long. Darn you B's!
5. Dive into my Bible more, and truly learn the meaning of God's word.
6. Start learning German again. I miss it so much.
7. Be a better servant of God, as referenced in this post.
8. Get an internship. One of the most stressful things I will have to do this year, and the career fair is coming up quick! (Like next week..eeek). I'm slightly not ready to be a grown up.
9. Embroider more. It's one of my absolute favorite hobbies, and I have so many ideas..gotta implement them!
10. Speaking of crafty hobbies, I really want to learn to sew. So, I plan on teaching myself to sew; I've got my mom's old sewing machine (1970's, what up?!), so might as well use it!
11. Be more patient with those around me.
12. Chill out with the road rage...seeeee, I need some patience.
13. Pray more often.
14. Become closer to my new family! Even though Curtis and I have been dating for almost seven years, I really want to become closer to his whole family. They love me so much, and I'm so thankful for them!
15. Make more bold fashion choices, but also remember who I am, and not try to be someone else.
16. Along the lines of number 15, I want to stop caring so much about what others around me think. I can already feel this one starting to happen. It's awesome. (Others being random people I don't even really know; I actually really do care about what my friends and family think, as I should.)
17. See a new historical land mark in Texas. I love history so much, and Texas is full of history! Can you say, San Jacinto Monument?
18. Get into a better workout routine; stop starting and stopping so much.
19. Learn some new hair tricks! I'm in need of them. I may just dye my hair and cut it a bit after the wedding.
20. Become more involved in volunteer work; I love helping others so much, I'm not sure why I'm not more involved.
21. And finally, learn to cook! I'm not awful, but I want to learn new things. Good thing I have the perfect future mother-in-law for that!

There you have it. Here's to becoming a better me! :)

Alrighty, here's my outfit of the day. My hair absolutely did not want to cooperate today. It was curly this morning, then I walked outside to the awful humidity, and what do you know..awkward flat hair. Not to mention the wind, of course I decide to wear a skirt on the windiest day we've had in a while! Oh, well, I made the best of this humid, dreary day by wearing this bright yellow blouse! I've actually had that thing for forever, and I've almost gotten rid of it more than a few times, but I think I've found new life in it. Can I get a woot for shopping your closet? :)

And here's how I plan on wearing it to my date with my fabulous fiance tonight! Subtract the tights and boots, add some swanky nude heels! Double yay for converting a day look into an evening look. I'm getting the hang of this.

I'm back!

Okay, so it may or may not have been...1 year, 5 months, and 14 days (thank you Google) since I last made a post on this blog. And I may or may not have completely forgotten the email I used to create this account, and used some Houdini magic to figure out what the heck the email address and password were for this thing. BUT, I am back. I've finally got some serious inspiration and plan on sharing my life with the internet. Although, I don't know if this thing will actually work out. I secretly hope it does. Because if there is one thing I love, its a really good blog. I'm gonna kick things off with some engagement pictures because that's the main thing going on in my life at the moment (besides school..but that's on hold for a month, thank you Christmas break). I'll probably get around to blogging about all of that a lot, but for now, since it is 3 in the morning, I'm just gonna post a few of the photos from our engagement session that the photographer sent us.

If you're a Texas native, and like our photos (of which you will see much much more), you can contact Aly, at Make My Day Photography. She's wonderful and I'm so happy with the work she's done for Curtis and me so far!

We're goobers :)
