October According to Instagram

  • Why not start off the month with some donuts? Curt and I have a bit of a morning ritual about twice a month (because if we did it more, we'd be 400 lbs) where we head on over to Shipley's Donuts at 6AM.
  • Pumpkin patch fun! We had lots of fun picking out this season's pumpkins, you can check out the post here.
  • The beags are always a big part of my life, but one week they got me a hundred on my photography assignment.
  • Photography has been a HUGE part of October for me, I started up my own business, but first, a photography exam. I'm happy to say I made a 98.
  • My beautiful best friend, Denise and I went on a fun photography session.
  • It's finally gotten a little cooler here in Texas, which obviously means breakin' out the boots and plaid.
  • More Aggie football, of course.
  • Got to take photos of this gorgeous little girly for her 2nd birthday!
  • Like I said earlier, photography and my business has been a big, big part of October for me, so I decided to document myself creating a business plan of all things!
  • I've been taking Curtis to work in the mornings, he's got a gig as a substitute teacher at a local Christian school. It's so funny, all the kiddos call me Mrs. Ross when I drop him off. You guys, that is soooo weird, ha.
  • For Halloween day, I wore my new favorite orange dress and a black cardi. Apparently others decided it'd be good to wear their actual costumes to school.. yeah, sorry, I'm not that festive {or outgoing}.
  • AND, Curt and I's Halloween costumes -- Sims robbers. Twas a great October.
You can follow me on instagram @kristina_ross14, if you'd like. Let's just say..it's my favorite social media outlet, teeeheee. Hope you've all had a great start to November! Thanksgiving will be here before we know it.

Happy Halloween!

I meant to put this up last night and schedule it for this morning, but alas! I had an exam today and I wasn't up for doing much of anything else minus sleeping and sitting in the bath, trying to make myself believe I didn't actually have a test. Side note: I always take baths the night before an exam, it just helps calm me and keep me stress-free, for the most part at least.

Back to what this post is really about. Last weekend, Curtis and I went to a little costume Halloween party, and this is what we wore! I was determined to NOT spend much money, yet still wear a "legit" costume. Since I don't have sewing skills, anything in that realm was out of the question, but I saw an idea on Pinterest for robbers and I ran with it. Turns out, we looked like the robbers off of the Sims, so that's what I told everyone we were. Way more creative, amirite? It was fun, and it's the first time Curtis and I have gotten dressed for Halloween together.. EVER. What? I know. We've always been wicked (pun intended) busy around this time of year our entire seven years of togetherness. So here we are, a couple o' robbers from the Sims. And no, we didn't manage to steal anything that night, tehe.

Robbers, 2Robbers, 1
Me - Beanie: Wal-Mart // Top: Thrifted // Jeans: Gap // Gloves: Wal-Mart // Flats: Old // Tote: DIY (Hobby Lobby)
Curt - Beanie: Wal-Mart // Shirt: Wal-Mart ($3!) // Jeans: Wrangler // Shoes: Nike (baseball days)  // Tote: DIY (HobLob)

So basically, I spent $3 at Hobby Lobby buying the tote bags and the masks on our heads (they looked ridiculous, so we didn't really wear them), $2 on the two pairs of gloves, $2 for the two beanies, and $3 for Curt's shirt because he didn't own a black/white striped shirt already. Ten bucks for two costumes, I'd call that a success! As for tonight, I don't think we'll be doing much except passing out candy to any little trick-or-treaters, but I always love Halloween.. mainly because it means Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner! :)

Halloween, 2Halloween, 1

Thought I'd throw these in here for good fun, I was mainly messing around with the camera and lighting, but hey, at least I decorated the house a little bit! What have you guys done for Halloween? Or do you have any weekend plans?

Pumpkin Patch

Pumpkin Patch, 1Pumpkin Patch, 2Pumpkin Patch, 4Pumpkin Patch, 5Pumpkin Patch, 7Pumpkin Patch, 6Pumpkin Patch, 8Pumpkin Patch, 9Pumpkin Patch, 3

Curtis and I went over to a little pumpkin patch about a block away from our house yesterday. I've been wanting to go to this dang pumpkin patch for a good three years now, and I was so glad to have finally gotten to go. I just never went before because I knew if I left it at my own apartment, I would hardly ever see it.. and if I left it at Curt's, it wouldn't be "mine." So, after waiting for a million years, I finally got my pumpkins! I have big plans for 'em (okay, maybe not..), but taking pictures was fun. Curtis wasn't too excited about me taking a picture of him with the pumpkin, but I actually love how it turned out. OH! and that gourd, its AWESOME, right? It looked like a dragon when we first saw it, so I had to get a picture. We left with one medium sized pumpkin, a small one, and two tiny ones, which I'll share with you guys once I figure out what I'm gonna do to them. Does anyone have any cool ideas they've run across?

life lately

IMG_5683
IMG_5676IMG_5698

making: photographs, way too many of them, but I love it. I'd love nothing more than for all of you to come visit me and be models. But seriously.
cooking: Whatever sounds good, breakfast tacos seem to be high on my list lately.
drinking: pumpkin spice lattes and HEB diet root beers
reading: too many textbooks..
wanting: flannels, scarves, crisp fall air, and.. new running shoes
wasting: too much precious study time. procrastination comes easy for me.
wishing: for more courage to follow my dreams.
enjoying: tv show after tv show; Breaking Bad, New Girl, Parks & Rec, Broadchurch, etc.
loving: being married, it makes everything better.
marveling: all of the gorgeous fall sunsets we've been getting lately.
wearing: anything comfortable, note last two outfit posts.
needing: more beagle snuggles in the morning.
thinking: about photography almost every spare second I get, and some that aren't so spare.
feeling: a bit overwhelmed.
bookmarking: camera lenses, shoes (of course), and ideas for shots.
giggling: in a life with Curtis, there's never a lack of giggling..
listening: to Mumford and Sons live tracks. Obsessed, y'all.

How's everyone else doing lately?
ps. that's pretty much my favorite photo of Muggles that I've ever taken, and there have been many.

Thankful

Today, I'm thankful for a husband that lets me practice my photography skills on him. Seriously, he got dressed for this, stayed patient with me while I proceeded to freak out about finding a place to take pictures (Plan A was cancelled by rain, Plan B by a random festival of Mexicans -- no seriously, not to mention the tons of random people out taking pictures), and he made a pretty cute model, too. I loves you, boo.

July According to Instagram

  • Since I had a final the day after the 4th of July, we celebrated a little bit of a late Fourth with family. Swimming, yummy grilled chicken, and relaxation made for one good day.
  • I finally started putting more things up on the walls around the house. One of my projects was to put some fun stuff on all of our chalkboards from the wedding. Mumford & Sons ftw!
  • I've been learning notes and chords on my ukulele this month after Curtis threatened to start learning it himself.
  • Did some thrifting with my momma and dad over a weekend. It was great to spend some downtime with them!
  • I've been crazy busy with summer school this month, hence all the late nights in the library. But, I've only got a week and a half left, yippee!
  • Luckily, Curtis has been suffering through summer school with me.. :)
  • Curt and I have gone on a few dates this month, one being to a local frozen yogurt shop, yuuuum.
  • I got to photograph these two lovebirds when they got engaged, so fun! You can see more here
  • One of my best friends, Megan, turned 21 this month, and I went up to Waco to celebrate and do a little painting. I'm pretty proud of what I accomplished, ha!
  • I've really enjoyed being on main campus this summer.. normally I'm on "west campus," and can I just say, I kind of despise it. So boring with all of its modern buildings. Give me some real architecture!
  • Like I told y'all the other day, Curtis and I went to east Texas.. seriously, I'm in love with those pine trees!
  • Sunsets in the woods are the best. I wish we could've stayed in Conroe longer.
If you don't already follow me on Instagram, you an follow me @kristina_ross14. Hope July's treated everyone well. I really can't believe we're already half way through 2013.

Currently,

Here's a little bit of what's going on in my life at the moment.

Watching..
Arrested Development.
Goodness, this show is the funniest thing I've watched in a while. Curtis suggested we start watching it for fun since all of our shows are on break at the moment. I highly recommend it if you're into silly shows that are short and don't have to make any sense whatsoever. I'm not sure when the last time I laughed out loud at a show so much was.. Yeah, it's goofy.

Reading..
Song of Ice and Fire: A Feast for Crows.
Sooo, I finished the third book in the Song of Ice and Fire series, was so distraught/intrigued that I had to start the fourth one right away. I've slowed down my pace just a bit because I got really sick last weekend, and I just started school all over again, but I plan on finishing it before school starts. These books are serious business people! haha

Eating..
Healthy food.
Curtis and I started a healthy eating diet a few days ago. It's been alright, I miss cookies and dark chocolate already. Oh, and Dr. Pepper Ten. We're trying to cut sodas until his birthday in September, and as a caffeine addict, that's extremely difficult for me. I've been cooking a ton since we go married, and I've been looking up lots and lots of recipes. It's fun, but yeah, cooking everyday is kind of crazy you guys.. how do moms do it?! Anyway, I've gained a few pounds since the wedding {cookies and brownies.. I blame you}, so I'm trying to get back down to where I was.

Listening to..
Live Music.
Curtis made a live music playlist on our Spotify, and we've been jammin' out to our favorite bands live. It's so much fun!

Striving for..

A more active lifestyle.
As a girl that loves to just sit and watch TV, or sit and search the internet, it's really hard for me to get active a lot of the time. Also, the Texas heat doesn't help much during the summer.. I just don't ever want to go anywhere or do anything. But, I'm trying to workout 3-4 times a week for 40-45 minutes at a time. We'll see if I can keep it up. I'm going to start out slow and build up. The beagles are appreciative of their two mile walks though!

Wanting..
A thrifting trip.
I'm in serious need of a thrifting trip. Be it clothes or home goods, I don't care. Both would be fantastic. I've been so stinking busy, I haven't had time to go in forever, ever. Anyone up for some fun with Kristina? haha

June According to Instagram

Ermm, this month has literally flown by.. I'm not quite sure where it even all went. I've been rather bogged down with school, house stuff, name changing type things, beagles, wifely duties (I've never cooked more in my life!), and many other things.. and even though my blogging hasn't been as consistent, my instagramming's been pretty good! ha

  • One of the first things we did this month was unpack all of our wedding gifts. I've yet to actually make it to the thank you note part. It's quite intimidating.. if you couldn't tell by the ginormous pile of boxes (and that was just for the kitchen).
  • Okay, so maybe we didn't get married in June, but since I didn't do an instagram update in May, I thought this picture should get an honorary place in this list. Plus, June was our first month of being a married couple! Not to mention, I'm kind of obsessed with that picture. :)
  • I'm missing football season so much right now. Baseball is kind of relieving my ache at the moment, but it's still not the same. Only two more months 'til crazy Aggie football time though! Oh, and I park next to Kyle Field a lot when I go to school for class, it only makes me want it more.
  • I started the first project for the duplex. A dresser I found outside a dumpster at my old apartment. It's from the 40s or 50s, I was in love instantly, but it was in serious need of some lovin'. So I gave it some.
  • The beagles and I are getting into a morning routine since I have to go to class at the same time everyday. They know I'm the one that feeds them, so they proceed to jump on me most morning once they know I'm awake. Lordy.
  • School and stress of daily life have really made me appreciate our honeymoon, and I'd really like to go back right about now!
  • Curt and I went on a little date night, which I told y'all about here. It was lots of fun, and a much needed break from everything.
  • Finished my first craft project, map coasters (I <3 maps too much), but I don't think they're going to hold up very long. Should've used more modge podge or some clear acrylic of some sort to seal them better.
  • I've been collecting reward money to Gap/Old Navy for a while now, and I finally had $40 to spend, so I bought myself these pretty little lovelies and a chambray skirt (which I will be showing y'all soooooon) for zero dollars. That's what's up.
  • Finished the dumpster dresser! I'm not completely happy with it (it still has some chippy spots), but it'll do for now. Maybe I'll paint it one day.. not soon though, ha.
  • Whipped out my fancy schmancy Kitchen Aid Mixer to make some yummmmmy Butterfinger Monster Cookies. They were delish, and I'm in love with my mixer.
  • June's been full of microeconomics for me. I'm not the biggest fan of long summer classes, but if it means I get 3 credits in 5 weeks instead of 15, I'm up for it. I have my final next Friday.. almost there!

Side Note: Don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin'! We're all having to say bye-bye to Google Reader (not that I really truly used it much anyway), and personally, I think Bloglovin' is the absolute best way to follow your favorite blogs! I promise I'll get back to my style post roots soon, my parents brought me my tripod today!
